What cookies are
A cookie is a small piece of text saved by your browser when you visit a website. Cookies are used to remember things like which page you were last on, whether you've already accepted a banner, and — in some cases — how visitors as a group are using the site. Most cookies are harmless. Some can be used for tracking across multiple websites; those are the ones to take care over.
The cookies the studio uses
Essential cookies (always on)
These are required for the website to work. They store basic state — for example, whether you've already seen the cookie banner, and whether your session is active. They cannot be turned off through this page.
- cookieConsent — stores your cookie preferences. Persistent, expires after 12 months.
- session — short-lived; deleted when you close the browser.
Analytics cookies (optional)
These help us understand, in aggregate, which pages of the site are read and where readers come from. They do not identify you personally. We use them lightly, and only if you have given consent.
- Set by an analytics provider, persistent, typical expiry 13 months.
Marketing cookies (optional)
These would be set by advertising or social networks if we ran paid promotion. The studio currently does not, but the toggle is provided so you can lock the preference in advance.
Preference cookies (optional)
These remember small UI preferences (language, region) so you don't need to reset them on every visit.
Third-party cookies
Where analytics or embedded content is enabled, third-party cookies may be set by the relevant provider — for example, Google Analytics for site usage reporting, or an embedded map service for the contact page. These third parties have their own privacy and cookie policies, which we recommend reading.
How long cookies last
Cookies are either session cookies, deleted when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which remain until they expire or you delete them. Persistent cookies on this site typically expire within 12 to 13 months.
